As the world nears the fourth anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control say that older adults still make up the majority of hospital patients with the illness.
The statistic comes from a recent report from the CDC, which also says that older Americans make up around 88% of in-hospital deaths from the virus.
Of those deaths, all of them had other underlying conditions and many were not up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccinations, according to the CDC.
