Religious groups throughout the Bronx headed to their house of worship on Friday for an annual pre-Passover tradition.

It's part of the burning of the Chametz ceremony before Passover. The eight-day holiday celebrates the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt.
Members of the synagogue brought over bread, pastries, oats, waffles, cookies and any other items that rise or ferment to be burned.
