Those in attendance spoke about how reinvesting money from the NYPD’s nearly $6 billion budget would impact the community.

NYPD officers listened from the sidelines, having blocked off Bedford Avenue and North Third Street for the event.

For weeks, Bedford Avenue has been a hub for all kinds of demonstrations.
