Families gathered outside of the 40th Precinct in Mott Haven Sunday to call for change.
The rally took place just outside of the police barricades on East 138th Street and Alexander Avenue.
Activists of all ages came out to keep the conversation about Black Lives Matter movement alive.
Protesters wrote words of hope with chalk and called for changes in how police interact with families.
Many advocates say they hope their voices will be heard and their movement will gain momentum in the weeks to come.
Organizers tell News 12 anyone who wants to protest peacefully is invited to join the group on Sunday morning into the foreseeable future.
