An FBI agent was assaulted in Flatbush on Monday morning while working on an active investigation, sources say.

Police say Darren McKenzie, 27, approached the agent outside 115 Ocean Ave. and punched him in the face before taking off.

The agent chased McKenzie about a quarter of a mile down Ocean Avenue, where the suspect jumped a subway turnstile at the Parkside Avenue Subway Station.

Officials say the agent was able to detain him inside the station until NYPD officers arrived and made the arrest.

Police said McKenzie is facing several charges, including assault and larceny for fare evasion.

Sources tell News 12 this is not his first arrest this year and that he has been taken into custody multiple times since 2022.

The FBI agent suffered facial injuries but is expected to recover.

News 12 has reached out to building management at 115 Ocean Ave. to see if security cameras captured the incident.
