4 people injured, including 2 firefighters, in 3-alarm building fire in Claremont

Dozens of people were forced to evacuate a Claremont building this morning during a three-alarm fire.
The fire broke out at the building located on Clay Avenue around 8:24 a.m.
The FDNY says the fire was reported on the top floor in the space between the ceiling and the roof.
After the fire was under control, a firefighter needed medical attention. News 12 cameras captured the firefighter being rolled out on a stretcher after a mayday call came in.
The FDNY also says another firefighter was hurt, along with two other people. One person is in serious condition.
Residents say they have been complaining about the building’s condition for months.
The building windows on the sixth floor are blown out and the smell of smoke still remains in the air.
News 12 has been seeing some residents return home.
It’s not immediately clear how the fire started.
