A Wisconsin company is firing back at Mayor Bloomberg?s anti-gun initiatives by creating colored guns named after the The Bronx and Brooklyn.
Lauer Custom Weaponry calls the colored guns the ?Bloomberg Collection.? It features five rainbow-colored guns, named after each borough. The collection includes shades like ?Bronx Rose? and ?Brooklyn Blue.?
Lauer is also covering rifles so that they resemble brick walls with graffiti as part of the Bloomberg Collection E-Z Camo Kit.
Bloomberg banned custom-colored guns in 2006. He says the colors make dangerous firearms look like innocent toys.
Bronx residents give mixed reviews about the new guns. ?I think it?s ridiculous and that the company needs to find something else to do with their time,? Sonia Reid says. ?Too much time on their hands to ridicule the mayor.?
Anthony Madera disagrees. ?I like the rose one,? he says. ?It looks like a Bronx gun.?
The mayor told The Daily News that this latest version of firearms is a tragedy in the making.
