A catering company is opening up shop in the Bronx and bringing dozens of new
jobs with it.
Hunts Point is now the headquarters for Great Performances Catering Company.
Local and state officials were on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the
kitchen.
Liz Neumark has run the independent catering company for 40 years and says
she’s dedicated to investing in
a borough she’s going to love.
“Opening a new kitchen as the city reopens is an amazing act
of courage and hope,” Neumark says.
The space is expected to create 181 jobs, an
investment that Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. says will continue to
boost the Bronx’s economy from the COVID crisis.
“Food industry is exactly what we want to build up here,” Diaz Jr. says. “The food industry has been
part of the Bronx for so many years, but nobody really looked at it that way.”

The space is also expected to provide training spaces for youth in the
neighborhood.
