Police say Jason Pass, the suspect believed to be involved in a Brooklyn double homicide, was shot Wednesday morning and has died.
The NYPD says Pass was in his car when police approached him on Bay 44th Street around 7 a.m. Officers say Pass had a knife and lunged at them. Pass was shot three times in the chest and once in the leg. He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Pass had an encounter with officers before for a robbery. Police say his gun was an unlicensed firearm.
Authorities released surveillance footage and images of Pass, 47, confronting the family as they were arguing while having a scissor pointed at him. Moments later, Pass takes out a gun and shoots the father and stepson multiple times in their heads and stomachs.
Police identified the victims Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and his stepson Chinwai Mode, 27. They lived in an apartment on the fourth floor.
Another vigil for the victims is expected to take place at 6 p.m. in East Flatbush.
