Police say the suspect broke in through the ceiling, and video shows the man scaling the wall and breaking in.
News 12 spoke with customer Michael Graham, who says he feels for the business.
"Because they work hard for everything they got. This is not a bad neighborhood, you know? So, I just really feel bad for them, and it hurts the community any time something like this happens because they lost could shut them down," said Graham.
Residents like Petra Sealy say incidents like this impact the whole community.
“I've been in this community over 30 years and the community has consistently gotten better and better and improved. So it's very distressing to hear that something like that has happened in our community," said Sealy.
Police say no arrests have been made and they released a photo of who they're searching for. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the NYPD.
