Additional resources are being deployed to religious, cultural and diplomatic sites across New York City in the wake of Israeli strikes on Qatar.
Israel launched the strike targeting Hamas’s leadership, further widening its campaign against the militant group. Surveillance footage aired by Al Jazeera shows the strike on buildings that housed Hamas' political wing in Doha's diplomatic quarter.
Qatar has served as a key negotiator in efforts to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, and it is unclear if the attack will stall those efforts.
U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condemned the attack on Tuesday and urged all parties to work towards a permanent ceasefire. An Israeli military spokesman said Israel’s air force carried out the strike.
