NYPD: Man killed in stabbing following argument in Mott Haven identified

The 46-year-old man stabbed to death in Mott Haven Wednesday has been identified by the NYPD.

The 46-year-old man stabbed to death in Mott Haven Wednesday has been identified by the NYPD.
Police say they received a call about an assault inside 2774 Third Ave. and found Anthony Carty unresponsive and with a stab wound to the torso. Carty was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police also identified the suspect as 46-year-old Gregory St. Surin, who is in custody and facing charges that include murder, attempted murder and manslaughter. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
Officers say a 49-year-old woman was also present during the stabbing and appeared to have marks on her neck after being choked by St. Surin. Police added that her clothes even appeared to be slashed. She was treated at the scene and will be OK.
