A school aide was assaulted by a 10-year-old girl’s stepfather after the aide gave the student a love letter, according to the NYPD.

Police say that the school aide gave the letter to the girl during school on Friday, confessing love toward her. The child returned home at around 1:30 p.m., and showed the letter to her mother.

Police say the incident took place at P.S. 481 in Van Nest, also known as the Steam Bridge School.

Officials said that the stepfather went to the school, confronted the aide and punched him in the face. The child was taken in by a squad dedicated to helping Bronx kids in danger to investigate any potential abuse from the aide.

"My daughter went to this school, it's sickening, you know, we have to watch everything that is going on, especially in these schools," said concerned parent Jose Alverez.

The school aide, 23-year-old Estevan Hamilton, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and first-degree harassment.
