A pair of Bronx siblings say they are worried for their mother, who suffers from dementia and has been dealing with rats digging into her apartment.
Yvette and Juan Soto tell News 12 their mother, Hilda Soto, has lived in her apartment for over 50 years. They say that for the past few months, rats have been digging through their floors and walls.
Juan Soto says the rats began digging through the floors and when he tried to patch it up, the rats started making their way through the walls. Yvette and Juan both tell News 12 that they've made multiple complaints to the building's management, but that nothing has been done for months and even their mother Hilda is scared.
"Management, everyone knows what's going on," said Yvette Soto. "They say 'let me see what I can do, I'll get back to you', and that's where we are at now."
News 12 is waiting to hear back directly from management.
