Starbucks is closing an additional 100 stores within the next year in cities across the U.S. because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The coffee giant is now opening
more stores in the suburbs, with fewer people working in urban centers.
Starbucks has become more
focused on drive-thru and carry-out service, with fewer customers inside because of social distancing.
The closings are in addition
to 400 previously announced for the U.S., and another 200 for Canada.
Despite the closures, the
new stores will give the company a gain of 50 stores next year, with them
planning 850 new stores at the same time.
