You use
your credit card, you pay the monthly bills and the interest, but do you cash
in on your rewards?
News 12’s consumer reporter Janice Lieberman has The Real Deal on why so many of
us aren't taking advantage of our points.
A recent study says almost a quarter of us are
not redeeming the rewards, leaving the cash on the table and free vacations by
the wayside.
“I think that's a big issue
because you're missing out. If you're not redeeming these points and miles, you're missing an opportunity to
save money,” says Ted Rossman.
Experts
say you may want to get an app that can help you track and manage accounts,
which will notify you when the points are about the expire.
Award
Wallet is one option. It’s free for a limited time and
there is an option to upgrade to the plus program for $30 a year. It will also
notify you when there is a change or delay in travel plans.
Max
Rewards is another app, which tracks rewards to make sure you know when you are
eligible for cash back.
The Points
Guy app is also free. It tracks credit card rewards and helps to navigate
awards to get the most bang for the buck.
However,
cash back is often the most simple, straightforward, and universal reward.
