Two women in their 70s were robbed at gunpoint and assaulted in the Bronx, police say.
The incident happened on May 22, outside 4356 Martha Ave. around 3:45 p.m.
The two women, ages 75 and 76, were walking when they were approached by a man who got out of a blue-colored Toyota Rav4.
Police say the suspect pulled out a gun and attempted to steal a purse from the 75-year-old woman.
However, police say she resisted, and the suspect threw her to the ground causing her to strike her head on the sidewalk.
The woman's friend attempted to fight back by striking the man with an umbrella, but police say the suspect threw her to the ground too.
The man is described as being between 18 and 20 years old.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
