A group of six students at the all-girls St. Catherine Academy in Pelham Gardens have been awarded honors from the College Board National Recognition Program for their performance in the field of STEM.
"Due to the generosity of Thomas and Agnes Caravelle Foundation, we were able to rewire our computer lab being nominated for this award honestly feels really exciting especially as a woman in STEM," said St. Catherine Academy assistant principal Carmela Melucci.
"I think that receiving this award will allow the school to recognize that supporting women to go into these fields is really important," said class of 2024 student Brianna Rios.
