Hundreds of people came out for the 25th annual Brides' March Friday afternoon to honor those lost to intimate partner violence.

The march began in 2001 to honor Gladys Ricart, who was murdered on her wedding day in 1999 by her ex-partner.

Survivors, families and allies all participated to call attention to domestic violence and to represent those who couldn't be there themselves.

“My sister and my niece both were taken by domestic violence, through my sister's partner and it was a very traumatic situation for my family and I," said Joshua Robinson.
