The Yonkers PBA is served up burgers and smiles for children with special needs on Tuesday.
Officials hosted the biggest barbecue of the summer at the Yonkers Montessori Academy.
More than 15 off-duty officers served lunch to more than 500 children and faculty.
"Just take a look at the smile on the kids’ faces. The importance comes from the joy and happiness that the kids bring to us when we do this. It just has to be done. It's the best thing we do all year," said Frank McDonald, First Vice President Yonkers PBA
They will host two more barbecues over the next two weeks for more than 1,000 children with special needs.
