A South Toms River man is facing several charges in connection to the death of his wife, the Ocean County prosecutor says.
Police say they received a 911 call at 9:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of an unconscious woman at home on Hummel Drive.
The woman, identified as 30-year-old Cheyanne Juarez, was found unconscious on the floor with blood on her face and belt around her neck, authorities say.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutors say an investigation revealed that Gustavo Juarez-Perez, 38, was responsible for his wife's death. He was taken into custody at his residence.
Juarez-Perez was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
He was taken to the Ocean County Jail while he awaits a detention hearing.
