Rep. Ritchie Torres has called for an investigation into Friday’s global technology outage that caused issues for many parts of New York City.

The outage impacted sectors including, health care, banking and travel. Buses and subways in New York City were affected.

Officials say the disruption was caused by a software update from a cybersecurity firm called CrowdStrike. The firm works hand-in-hand with Microsoft.

Microsoft 365 says they have since mitigated the issue that was impacting their apps and services.
